A ‘Water for Injection’ (WFI) System was designed and built for our client, which incorporated a 120metre x 25mm diameter ringmain, the ringmain tubing was 316L stainless steel with electropolished internal surface and was welded using Orion Engineering Services ‘Automatic Orbital TIG welding process’.

Equipment included ITT Block design diaphragm valves, insertion RTD temperature sensors, Tube-in Tube WFI cooling heat exchangers, Vertical design self draining variable speed pump.

The WFI system design and supply included the Control system, which consisted of an OMRON PLC with touch screen operation. Control Sequences were designed for simple WFI Start-up and Running modes.

A special feature of the control system is it’s ability for the PLC to identify power interruptions and to re-start the system automatically when site power is restored.

Injectable Products MHT CIP SIP - 2007

A Manufacturing Room layout and design was developed by Orion Engineering Services for a major Pharmaceutical Client to Clean in Place (CIP), Sterilise in Place (SIP), Manufacture and Transfer Injectable Products into two Mobile Holding Tanks.
The Manufacture of 240lt Batches of Injectable Pharmaceutical products, are manufactured in a 300lt Vessel and then transferred into small Mobile Holding Tanks for connection to Blow Fill Seal (BFS) filling machines.

The process equipment included ITT Engineered Diaphragm Valves, Millipore Filter Housings and Process Piping by Orion Engineering Services (which was installed using automatic orbital welding of internally electropolished 316L stainless steel tubing). Siemens PCS7 Software development was managed by Orion Engineering and executed by Tech Eng Pty Ltd.

Pressure Testing & Chemical Passivation

Critical Pipework – for pharmaceutical processes such as Pure Steam & Water for Injection services use grade 316L Stainless steel tubing with internal polished finish.
 
Additional processes such as Pressure Testing, Chemical cleaning & Passivation are all part of required Qualification processes before use in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Water Recovery Plant 2007

RO waste water is now collected from the Purified Water System and is sent to the Water Recovery Tank in
lieu of the tradewaste drain. The PW System runs 24/7 & supplies 260lph continuously for re-use.
Recovered water is then distributed to Wet Scrubbers for re-use, saving approximately 2.4 Mega-litres per annum.
When the Wet Scrubbers are not in use the tank has an intermediate overflow pipe to supply surplus water to a garden lake system.
